Seattle Graf Rag is a fairly new quarterly Seattle graffiti zine. This quarters issue is 40 pages of beautiful full color photos and features an interview with artist KATSU. If you have any photos you’d like to submit to the zine, you can upload them to the Flickr page HERE. You can buy the zine at 35th North skateshop on Capitol Hill or on the Art Primo website. Go pick up your copy!

Making That Noise

25 Feb

A few weeks ago, I received an email from a local artist named Laura Castellanos. She sent along the following photo from Georgetown/Seattle’s Industrial District. Definitely check out Laura’s art HERE and remember that we love submissions from different parts of the city and region. Thanks Lauren!

Rebel Dukes of the Hood

Most of the photographs I have taken for this blog have been with a Nikon Coolpix S220, a mediocre camera at best. I use it because it is very portable and easy to use. I also don’t have the money to buy a quality camera. Recently I borrowed a manual, film camera and used it to photograph the “Great Seattle Graffiti Wall.” The camera is a Pentax P30 and the lens is a Takumar-A Zoom 70-200mm. I definitely had mixed results moving to a manual camera from one as easy to use as a Coolpix, but some of the photos turned out very well. More pictures to come.
