you’re a smart enough guy to know that there is a difference between (street) art and just plain ass property destruction. And a lot of what you and the flickr group celebrate as art is nothing more than property destruction.

I agree with all the arguments about reclaiming public space from advertising and so on but most of “work” out there is just fucking vandalism that costs hardworking people time and money to repair. It is anti-social and juvenile. Artists like Banksy and Spoon for instance who put wit, ability and effort into their work are appreciated. Taggers are considered vandals because, in essence, that is all they are. Look at these guys who use the fire extinquisher to blast gallons of paint on a wall in three seconds. If you think that’s art and not just vandalism done for a thrill then you are a dumbass-which I do not think you are. I think you are just a guy involved in a community in which groupthink allows no thinking for yourself.

If any of you were willing to walk your talk you would post your addresses and invite taggers to come over and work their “art” on your property. the fact that you don’t do that indicates that you know most graff is nothing more than unsightly vandalism and makes all of you fucking hypocrites.

When i wrote a column for the stranger for a few months, i argued with people like you on a daily basis. I’m over it now. If you want to see my counter-argument check out those old columns or read some of my past posts on here. Agree to disagree.

What is your home address? Own a car? Describe it and where you park it? Give that information up to the graff community and then you’ll have some credibility. Until you are willing to have your own personal property covered in graff in the same manner you celebrate as street art when done to your neighbor’s property you are just talking juvenile shit.

Those shitty looking bubble letters sprayed on a wooden fence never come completely off but just to clean ‘em up a bit so your neighbors don’t have to look at the blight will cost a day and a $100 or so. But you don’t give a shit that that money could have gone toward a mortgage payment or groceries and clothes for the kids. You don’t give a shit that the person had to go to work and take crap off a boss to get that money.

C’mon poser! Put your address where your big mouth is:

      Your address here:_______________________________

      Your car location here:______________________________
